After a long work day there is nothing better than unwinding with a glass of wine and a bite of cheese in a cozy atmosphere.  One of my favorite wine bars in the city is Balzem restaurant located in the Nolita area of Soho.  This Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar serves up a unique menu in a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine with friends.  Today I stopped in and tried a Vermentino wine from Cotes de Provence.  Vermentino is a light-bodied white wine that grows mostly in Italy on the island of Sardinia. The Vermentino wine that is from the Cotes de Provence region of France is called "Rolle" or "roll" and is the secret ingredient in many of the regions top-rated rosé wines.  In my opinion this wine reminds me of a combination between rosé and sauvignon blanc.  It paired perfectly with this spicy feta cheese with pita and cucumbers.  Light and Refreshing!  For my outfit I wore my Rag & Bone blazer with my J Brand skinny jeans and favorite pair of M. Gemi pumps.  This outfit is a foolproof look to take you from your desk to dinner!

Domaine de Jacourette, Vermentino, Cotes de Provence, $16.99 (wine.com)

What The Experts Say:

This Domaine de Jacourette Vermentino has aromas of pineapple, pears and citrus. Palate round and fruity dominated by exotic fruits.

What I Say:

This was my first time trying Vermentino wine and I have to say I am a huge fan. It is super light, crisp and fruity.  The perfect after work sip!

Colleen
