I am very strategic when it comes to what pieces of clothing and accessories I splurge on.   Everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to what they like to spend their money on, but I always advise my clients to pick and choose carefully because some pieces are trendy and won't be in style past one season.  For example, I am a big proponent of splurging on handbags because a nice handbag can instantly make any outfit look amazing.  When it comes to shoes, for the most part I think along the same lines with some exceptions.  Since living in NYC, I realize how much of a beating my shoes take.  Between the subway, dirty sidewalks, winter elements and grates my shoes always end up looking beat up.  I think that there are certain shoes that are worth the high-end price tag and others where you are better off getting the look for less.  If the shoe is super trendy like these embroidered Gucci loafers or studded pearl shoes, I recommend getting the less expensive version because they probably won't be in style for more than a few seasons.  On the flip side, a classic pair of black pumps or over the knee boots that you will wear over and over again are worth spending a little more on because you get more use out of them.  Shoes that are more expensive are usually made with higher quality materials so they tend to wear a lot better than a synthetic shoe would from Zara.  Today I have rounded up some of the biggest shoe trends right now at both a higher and lower price point.  Happy shopping!

One of my favorite outfits is a tee shirt and jeans with a pair of pumps.  Lately I have really been loving vintage inspired graphic t-shirts like old concert shirts or distressed military style tees.  My favorite way to style this look is to pair it with a leather moto jacket or bomber.  It gives the outfit the perfect laid-back casual vibe. Some of my favorite brands for that worn in concert tee look are Madeworn and Chaser.  Madeworn tees are a bit more expensive than Chaser, but they offer a great authentic look.   At the end of the day, you can get this look at any price point including going the thrift store route if you really want to get your search on!  Today I am sharing some of my favorite graphic tees that are available in stores now.  Click the links to shop!

July 4th is one of my favorite holidays.  It's a day where the only expectation is eating good food, being around friends and fireworks.   I like to add a pop of red or blue into my outfit on the 4th, but try to stay away from anything that can look too much like a costume (unless that is the look you are going for).   I usually hop around to BBQ's or head down to the beach on the 4th so I always keep my outfit super casual and most importantly, comfortable.  Today I am sharing some of the pieces that are perfect for a casual Fourth of July party.  I love all of these pieces and want them in my closet ASAP!  Happy Shopping!

The Perfect Summer Dress

Even though I am a total jeans girl, I am trying to add more dresses into my wardrobe for dressier summer events or when it is just too plain hot for jeans.   My favorite style is something that is slim fitting but not too tight.  I also really like blush pink and light blue colors.  All of these casual dresses are perfect for a summer BBQ or a lunch with friends.  My personal favorite is this floral print dress from Paige and big surprise, the denim dress from 7 For All Mankind.  To shop my picks, click the links above and below.
