The holiday season is officially upon us and that means lots of parties and family gatherings to attend.  I have a few go-to holiday outfit combinations that work in pretty much any setting.  A nice pair of velvet pants paired with a blouse or a cami and blazer is a great and easy way to dress for your special holiday occasions.   I also really like anything sheer or sequined for the holidays.  This sheer star print H&M blouse is a super chic and affordable top that is perfect for a holiday party!  Whether it is drinks with friends or a NYE party, this top can be worn with so many different outfit combinations.  Today I paired it with my favorite J Brand velvet pants for a chic black on black look.  If you wanted a dressier look I could easily swap out the pants for a leather pencil skirt or sequined bottoms.  If you need help finding the perfect outfit for your upcoming holiday parties, let me style you!

I've always loved wearing black and since I've lived in NYC, my obsession with black has reached another level.  Black is always a safe option and it looks great on everyone.  I have been searching for a great black and white striped top for awhile now and I actually found one from a different brand that was 100% silk and cost $200.  I was about to pull the trigger, but then one day when I was browsing H&M I spotted this blouse that gave the exact same look I was going for at  a fraction of the price!  I know that this blouse will not last as long as the more expensive silk version, but I think I will get a few uses out of it for the season which makes it worth it.  Today I paired it with my favorite black skinny jeans and my Anine Bing lace camisole.  One of my favorite styling tricks is layering lace under a button down or tee so it peaks out a little.  This outfit is perfect for a casual holiday party or dinner out with friends. Fall Sweaters

So far this fall has been unseasonably warm.  It is pretty rare to have an 80 degree day in late October, but I am not complaining!  The cold weather seems to last so long here on the east coast so I am always willing to delay it for as long as possible.  Since this week has been the first real glimpse at cooler temps, I figured I would start looking around for new sweaters and knits.  This season I am really loving oversized sweaters with statement sleeves or interesting details.  My favorites are sweaters that you can dress up or down depending on where you are headed.  Today I have hand picked some of my favorites available in stores now at a variety of price points.  When it comes to buying sweaters, my advice is to only invest in classics that will last more than one season.  Know that if you buy a sweater from H&M, you will probably only get one season out of it because the quality isn't going to be as great as a more expensive cashmere sweater might be.   One way to help extend the "life" of your sweaters is to take them to the dry cleaner to be professionally cared for.   This can help to avoid the pills and snags that tend to happen in the washing machine.

One of my favorite ways to accessorize is to add a hat to my outfit.  This fall one of the major trends is the fisherman hat.  I absolutely love this look!  It adds such a cool 90's vibe and looks good on almost everyone.  Celebs like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner have been seen rocking this trend and have contributed to making it so popular.  Since this is a very trendy piece, I recommend opting for a lower cost version.  Today I have rounded up a few different styles at various price points depending on your budget.  I actually got mine for $14.95 at Forever 21  and always get lots of compliments on it.  To shop my picks, click the links above or below.
